compliance management, IT asset management, and job
scheduling management
Hitachi Asia launches new version of integrated
system management solution that incorporates security
compliance management for centralized control and monitoring
of corporate IT assets
Singapore, 20th July, 2005 – Hitachi
Asia Ltd. (Hitachi) announced today an enhanced version
of its leading integrated systems management solution,
Job Management Partner 1 (JP1) Version 7i with PC security
compliance management, IT asset management, and job
scheduling definition functions.
Combining capabilities in job management, availability
management, desktop management and integrated management,
JP1 provides the ability to execute mission critical
business processes, monitor an entire system, and centralized
life cycle management of corporate IT resources.
The new product JP1/Client Security Control (JP1/CSC)
provides security compliance management functions for
client PCs through PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) cycle.
While the enhanced Desktop Management modules, JP1/Software
Distribution (JP1/SD), and JP1/Asset Information Manager
(JP1/AIM), improve client PC security through prevention
of unnecessary operations from end users and by monitoring
of end users’ operations. Adding to the enhancement
list, the comprehensive automatic job scheduling solution,
JP1/Automatic Job Management System 2 (JP1/AJS2), now
offers the ability to check job definition correctness
prior to actual operation so as to prevent any error.
Put together, this enhanced JP1 Version 7i provides
a complete and comprehensive solution for IT asset management
and security compliance management.
“Evidently, executives and IT managers in this
region, like their counterparts in the US, Europe and
Japan are facing problems with implementing corporate
compliance policies into their IT system environment
especially in the security aspect,” says Hideto
Hoshino, General Manager of the System Management Solution
Division at Hitachi Asia Ltd. “JP1/SD and JP1/AIM
can now centrally monitor client PCs to check installation
status of anti-virus software, unlicensed software,
and Windows patch modules. Then using JP1/CSC to automatically
cut off workstations from the network upon detecting
the highest level of pre-defined security breach. Such
tools are useful in reconstructing a company’s
internal compliance policies, bringing the security
health of business to a new level of high.”
Key features and benefits of enhancements to JP1 Version
7i include:
- Automatic and centralized scanning for security
vulnerability information, such as anti-virus software
updates, unauthorized use of software, and Windows
patches update of PC clients.
- Automatic actions such as cut off workstations
from the network, or prevent unauthorized software
from execution, in order to keep the IT system operation
compliant with corporate regulations.
- Provides reports to an administrator about end
user's operation log on client PC to audit the operation
of application software and prevent damage by leaking
information or illegal operation.
- Allows centralized monitoring and automate IT asset
management approval process for purchasing PCs and
tracking problems.
- Prior check function for correctness of job definition
information to prevent any errors in advance.
