Hitachi Asia
Launches latest version of JP1 System Management Suite-
JP1 Version 8
Solutions enable business agility and flexibility
by delivering transparent, holistic view of IT environment
SINGAPORE — December 7, 2006
— Hitachi Asia Ltd, a leading provider of solutions
that enable enterprises to derive business advantage
from the optimal use of their IT systems, today announced
the release of JP1 Version 8 of its Hitachi Job Management
Partner 1 (Hitachi JP1) suite of integrated systems
management solutions in Southeast Asia region.
Anchoring on 3 key factors – IT Compliance, Automation
and Monitoring – to reinforce transparency in
IT system management, JP1 Version 8 allows improved
clarity of system-related processes and how they interact
via JP1 integrated Management View. It reinforces internal
administration to comply with legal requirements and
other regulations, and also allows an organisation’s
entire information systems to operate autonomously on
the business level.
“With business environments constantly evolving
and concerns over IT compliance and corporate governance
increasing, organisations need to correspond to such
situation by promptly adapting its IT systems to its
business infrastructure. We have made it easier for
enterprises to monitor their system processes and IT
assets, which in turn enables them to dynamically design,
amend, execute, and police service level, security,
and software use policies.” said Hideto Hoshino,
General Manager, System Management Solution Division,
Hitachi Asia Ltd.
Full visibility of processes and the system management
regime is provided by an easy-to-use GUI and intuitive
screen layout common to all the solutions in the Hitachi
JP1 suite. This holistic view enables management of
IT asset information, software installation status,
end user’s operation history of client application
such as Microsoft Office or Internet Explorer, as well
as IT operation process, precise assessment of server
performance.
Furthermore, JP1 supports IT system operation’s
best practice: ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure
Library) in the area of configuration management, capacity
management and availability management processes.
JP1 Version 8 focuses on key areas with new
features;
- New Features for “IT Compliance”:
JP1 IT asset management enables acquisition of end
user’s operation log or file access log in the
client PC, thus enables monitoring of PC operations
that are not necessary for business operation. Furthermore,
by simply registering a list of “permitted software”,
execution of the rest of software such as game software
or Internet access software can be disabled, thus
prevent unauthorized use of PCs. In addition, JP1
enables a quick view of security measurement status
such as anti-virus software installation status, patch
update status, and automatic logon or screen saver
settings.
- New features for Transparent Performance
and Processes:
Since JP1 server performance monitoring visualizes
the server performance status, detection of problem
in the server resources and applications is enabled,
thus preventive action can be taken and the server
performance history information can be used for capacity
planning in the future use. In addition, one JP1 server
performance function predicts workload of the server
based on the past server performance history, thus
preventive action can be taken before lack of the
server resource happens. This enables more stable
server operation by conducting the immediate root
cause analysis using various analysis methods such
as data correlation.
JP1 Version 8 optimally sets and keeps service level
of IT systems, enhances transparency of IT system operation,
and supports building and operating IT systems that
comply with company’s business directions.
