Singapore Epson Industrial Pte Ltd (Epson) does not have
a central control over the many batch jobs that are being
executed on the different platforms. Most of the jobs,
including AS400 native jobs and Windows jobs were done
separately. Too much attention was being focus on it and
modification of workflows was a tedious process.
JP1 Automatic Job Scheduling / AS400 Linkage
Epson selects JP1 AS400 linkage to integrate jobs across
AS400 and other server platform.
Epson awarded the first JP1 AS400 linkage project worldwide
to Hitachi Asia Ltd. The project will enhance the operation
effectiveness and efficiencies by integrating jobs across
different platforms (AS400 and Window NT). With a friendly
and easy to use GUI, job scheduling and configuration
effort also improved.
Epson will also gain benefits in automation and recovery
function that is part of JP1 Job Management module. Productivity
improvement and cost reduction will deliver higher level
of competitiveness to Epson.
1. Jobs Automation
JP1 Automatic Job Management enables Epson to automatically
submit, monitor, and manage all these jobs using predefined
scheduling criteria. This enables the effective execution
of hundred of batch jobs with complex preconditions across
the network. JP1 AS400 Linkage enables closer integration
of AS400 jobs with other applications on other servers.
2. Reduce manual processing and associated
errors
With the JP1's capability, batch jobs in the AS400 machine
no longer needs to be trigger manually. They can be scheduled
to run even after office hours or in the weekend.
3. Enhanced Scheduler
With a comprehensive scheduler, CUSTOMER can define reporting
jobs to run such as at the last working day or first working
day of the month or at particular events occurrence.
4. User friendly and effective GUI
In addition, JP1 provides an intuitive way to check job
status, using color symbol to indicate actual status.
When an error occurs during a sequence of batch-processing
tasks, it is normally a time-consuming process to identify
the source of the error. In contrast, the display generated
by JP1 quickly tells you where the problem is located.
5. Improved operations
JP1 is contributing to labor savings and stability in
the operation of a global system. The system JP1 provides
flexibility to changes and CUSTOMER already has achieved
rapid development and the round-the-clock, non-stop operation
of a system that supports the company's global management
needs for speed and prioritization. |
